Have you tried the example from this post with the instalation directory changed according to this post and to match your installation directory?

Can you show us your modified version?

What does "Does not work" mean? Does your script crash, does it give an error, does MW.exe give an error, never run, or end without doing anything.

Need more info.

Yes , we did change the installation directory

1) and we are trying to run the mw.exe using command line / DOS prompt

2) we are able to open NewSMS windows using mw.exe -newsms

3) when we try to add on more parameters e.f -number +471223456

and -Text "hello" , it opens blank New SMS window

4) whereas when we try to run the following

mw.exe -NewSMS -Number +471223456 -Text 'hello'

nothing happens, no error is seen and no message sent

once we acheive sending the SMS using DOS prompt, we wil then use Autoit script to automate it

There isn't realy much I (or most people here) can help you with then as most people here won't have a Telia phone number (which I believe is required). And your current issue has nothing to do with AutoIt.

If you want to be able to test commandlines easily I would still advise you to use an autoit script, because it allows you to tweak it more easily and comment the result of different command lines.

You can do the following script to do so:

Global $s_folder = 'C:\program files...' ;your installation directory (change to match) (no trailing "\")
Global $s_exe = 'mw.exe' ;the executable

Global $s_commandline = ' -NewSMS'
;~ Global $s_commandline = ' -NewSMS -Number +471223456' ;uncomment to test this commanline
;~ Global $s_commandline = ' -NewSMS -Number +471223456 -Text "hello"' ;uncomment to test this commandline

$s_run = '"' & $s_folder & '\' & $s_exe & '"' & $s_commandline ;this puts together the path, filename and commandline
If MsgBox(4,"Do you want to run this code:",$s_run) = 7 Then Exit ;shows you the run line, so you can see any obvious mistakes, like forgetting whitespace, or quotes.
Run($s_run) ;runs the line
