DarkAngel
I have written a simple script that would encrypt files recursively in a folder using the crypt.au3. Now that isnt a problem . The problem is when i want to decrypt the files back i will not be able to have the same extensions of the file that was there before encrypting it . Is there a way to solve this problem? Moderators Melba23 Posted September 11, 2010 Moderators Share Posted September 11, 2010 DarkAngel, Why not save the encrypted file with its original name plus a new extension and then remove this additional extension when decrypting? Soemthing like this works for me: #Include <Crypt.au3> $sPassword = "fred" $sSourceFile = "Filename.Ext" $sCryptFile = $sSourceFile & ".cry" $sDecryptFile = StringReplace($sCryptFile, ".cry", "") _Crypt_EncryptFile($sSourceFile, $sCryptFile, $sPassword, $CALG_DES) FileDelete($sSourceFile) MsgBox(0, "Check", "See if source has gone") _Crypt_DecryptFile($sCryptFile, $sDecryptFile, $sPassword, $CALG_DES) MsgBox(0, "Check", "And it is back again!") Moderators Melba23 Posted September 11, 2010 Moderators Share Posted September 11, 2010 DarkAngel,Glad I could help. When you reply please use the "Add Reply" button at the top and bottom of the page rather then the "Reply" button in the post itself. That way you do not get the contents of the previous post quoted in your reply and the whole thread becomes easier to read.
