Can't Figure out AutoIt3Wrappers

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Yes, another post on them things begining with

#AutoIt3Wrapper_Res
... - You guys must be sick of them :graduated:

But, I just can't get my head around them, either that or they don't work on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit!?

I've looked at the example in the AutoIt3Wrapper help file for changing the tray icon [i changed them to real icon directories] but it doesn't work.

I've even tried compiling in x86...(doesn't work)

Is it something I'm doing wrong?

You are sure you installed the full SciTE4AutoIt3 installer?

If so show the SciTEoutput pane info when compiling the script.

Hi, I'm sure I have the full version of SciTE4AutoIt3 installed

The output in SciTE editor also confirms that the ico file has been added!

So, how do you know it isn't correct then?

Having a cache issue maybe?

I know it's not working because the tray icon doesn't change.

I'm not exactly sure what 'cache issues' would be, so I can't answer that question directly. But if I were, how could it be fixed.

DjATUit,

Later Windows versions maintain a cache to hold icons so they do not have to search through the files on disk. This can "lag" a bit and so needs to be rebuilt if the icon changes do not appear to happen - it is quite a common occurence. :graduated:

This shows a couple of ways to delete the cache and force a rebuild. Apologies in advance for the crappy music that the page plays! :(

Oh, thank you Melba.

That explains things!

I'll just keep them seperate for now, seeing as I need it to be cross platform (Windows Versions) without messing about rebooting or terminating explorer.exe, etc!

I assume, it isn't the same for DLL's, as that's how commercial programs get around using images!?

Thanks Again,

DjATUit
