Fran
Hi there. I've created a setup script and I want the user to choose whether they want shortcuts created:1. on their desktop (no problem)@DesktopDir2. in their start menu (also no problem)@StartMenuCommonDir & '\Programs'and3. a Quick Launch icon (small problem)My Question: Is there a 'Macro' that I can use to find the location of the 'Quick Launch' shortcuts on the user's PC?I've checked the help file and also the forums, but I can't find anything to help me.Thanx in advance!F
Mat
No macro I'm afraid, but it's easy enough. If you have WinApiEx by Yashied it's even easier. The function you want is _WinAPI_ShellGetKnownFolderPath. I haven't tested but its something like: _WinAPI_ShellGetKnownFolderPath($FOLDERID_QuickLaunch) But thats only on vista and above. On earlier versions I'm not sure what you need. Edited November 5, 2010 by Mat AutoIt Project Listing

Mat
This works for me on Wndows Xp SP2 ShellExecute(@AppDataDir&"\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch") That's where it usually is I think (Mines in the same place on vista), but that's not always the case unfortunately, so you need to find it out some other way to make it as foolproof as possible. The only thing is with Windows 7, the quick launch toolbar isn't shown by default and you have to create the toolbar manually so anything placed in the folder won't show up until you do that. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day.
