wakillon
Basically you can create an expiration like this#include <Date.au3> $_Key = "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ProgName" $_Value = RegRead ( $_Key, "FirstInstallDate" ) ConsoleWrite ( "$_Value : " & $_Value & @Crlf ) If $_Value = '' Then RegWrite ( "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ProgName", "FirstInstallDate", "REG_SZ", _NowCalc ( ) ) Else $iDateCalc = _DateDiff ( 'd', $_Value, _NowCalc ( ) ) MsgBox ( 4096, "", "Number of days since first install: " & $iDateCalc ) EndIfAt the first install a registry key is wrote with the install dateand at the next executions you can compare the number of days you want limit ! jchd
@motormad, Don't believe I'm harsh with you. I'm just taking the word secure seriously, or at least at its face meaning/value. Securing something (anything) has to be a balance betwen he money/time you invest in protecting it and the money/time needed to break/steal it. So if your intended audience is 9- or 91-old (no pun intended against elders) then half-backed tricks may certainly be enough for you. Background: I've spent much time in the formal methods domain where you build mathematical models of the system studied. When a formal model exists, you can _prove_ (in the mathematical sense) things about its behavior/correctness. In this domain, secure means secure against any feasible attack, always or never mean no exception at all, ...
