Steveiwonder
Hey all, baffled by this.Script:#include <ie.au3> Global $WinTitle = "Case Untitled -", $oIE, $WinHandle $WinHandle = WinGetHandle($WinTitle) ; Successfully gets window handle ConsoleWrite("Handle: " & $WinHandle & @CRLF) $oIE = _IEAttach($WinHandle, "HWND"); fails. ConsoleWrite(@extended & @CRLF) ; outputs 0Just to point out this is only an issue with a single PC out of 12. I'm aware its no Au3 bug but im looking for some assistance. When it runs _IEAttach fails with:--> IE.au3 V2.4-0 Warning from function _IEAttach, $_IEStatus_NoMatchThe window exists because i can get the handle & use it for other tasks.@extended contains 0.This used to work on the PC a few days back but stopped, unknown reason. I'm not aware of anything being changed. IE Version is all the same and i have reset all the settings on IE. Not that i think its IE related. I am lost as why _IEAttach fails to find the window. Can anyone suggest anything?ThanksSteveEDIT: This can be easily resolve by closing all instances of IE then starting again. I have no idea why this happens, its totally random. One day it will work and the next not. Simple IE restart. It works 95% of the time on the first IE launce random IE bug not Au3. Ignore me. werd
rebooting/restarting IE definitely helps, but i'm concerned if I need to deploy an *.exe to other people with an note attached saying if it doesn't work please reboot your machine... doesn't build confidence in my programming skills! DaleHohm
You can have an IE process hanging around in a wierd state on your system. I'm not suggesting this as a routine step, just one to get you out of the state you are in on this one machine now. If you reboot and the symptom returns, then you need to work to find a reproducer. Typically it is a one-time wrapped-around-the-axil issue you need to clear. DaleHohm
You don't have the same issue as stated above. It is not a good idea to reply to an old topic like this. Your issue is that IE is playing host to a container that hosts the PDF document. This container is not accessible via the IE DOM and IE.au3 will not do you any good until an HTML document is displayed there.
