:x AutoIT doesn't like me :P

OK.

So basically, as the title says, I wish to be able to edit the registry as a non-admin. I'm sure all the other programs on my computer do it, so why cant mine? I have created a sub branch for my program to store its information in the registry and wish to be able to edit keys under that. However I must be an admin to do so!

Is there any way to be able to get a program to run, any lines I can add, to make a program be able to edit the keys without admin privelidges?

Thanks guys,

shanet

Hi again Realm,

I havent been on much today so sorry for the late reply (its 2:04 am over here and my sleeping is problematic at the moment so I decided to see if anyone did have any sort of answer... anyway...)

I have looked at #RequireAdmin before, I do not wish to implement it, I wish to be able to use what I am making in normal accounts as well.

However thankyou again for your help :x

shanet,

#RequireAdmin, does not mean the script has to run from the Admin Account, it means the script can run on any account, as if it has Admin rights.

Realm

Edit: From the Help File 'This function was primarily aimed at allowing AutoIt scripts to work correctly with Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC)'

OK, I must have missed that part. Thankyou.

Depends what keys you want to access. This should only be HKEY_CURRENT_USER (HKCU) with your program, which is fine. You will always need higher priviliges to write to HKLM.

Thanks Mat, I also didnt know that. I shall try that.

Hoping it all works now!
