Juvigy
What do you mean by Compare? You can easily compare if the files are the same or not. But to get what is different is more difficult.

Moderators Melba23 Posted January 2, 2011 Moderators Share Posted January 2, 2011 vimala,I will assume you have compared the file sizes to begin with. If all you want to know is whether the 2 files are identical, then get use _Crypt_HashFile to get their hashes. If you get the same result from both files then they are indeed identical. If the hashes are not the same then the 2 files are different, but you have no way of knowing in what way. It could be as little as a single altered byte or large as a completely different content - the only way to find out is to open them and compare their content. How you would do this depends on the size of the files - short files can be read directly into simple variables, longer files (over about 100kb) will need to be read in blocks.I hope this helps.
