FormatString

Hi,

Searching the forum hasn't brought me the answer to my question, so maybe anyone can help me.

The problem is simple: I want to put the result from a counter in a string in a specific format.

This is a sample of the code I have:

$Counter=1

Do

$ItemNo = ("ITEM-" & $Counter)

MsgBox(0,"counter", "result = "& $ItemNo)

$Counter = $Counter+1

Until $Counter = 999

The result is ITEM-1, ITEM-2, ..., ITEM-999.

I want to display the result as ITEM-001, ITEM-002, ..., ITEM-999.

Any ideas??

Regards,

Eric

3r1c,

StringFormat takes a bit of getting used to! I had to play with it a lot before I began to understand it. :P

Here is how to format as you want: :x

$Counter = 1
Do
    $ItemNo = ("ITEM-" & StringFormat("%03i", $Counter))
    MsgBox(0, "counter", "result = " & $ItemNo)
    $Counter = $Counter + 1
Until $Counter = 999

Use Stringformat:

ConsoleWrite(StringFormat("%03i", 1) & @CRLF)
