There is no problem with the code - but I think you are using the wrong property code. :idiot:

Try using 34 - File Description - and see how you get on. ;)

P.S. You will not see anything displayed when you try MsgBox(0, "oDir ", $oDir) - object references cannot be read by mortals, only computers. :)

Oh so true but he might want to read up on ObjName() in the help file. I didn't test it against this particular code but it will sometimes do the job as in

MsgBox(0, "oDir ", ObjName($oDir))

It is imperative to read the help file on this one since there is a remark about it's use.
