I have many programs that run flawlessly on everything but windows 7 (windows 2000, me, xp, vista)

I wrote properly to the registry (HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run) yet when the computer starts up... the program does not... any idea why? - has anything been changed?

Hi,

To run the program/script at startup you should have it in at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and not in HKCU...

I'll give both a look - but I think _startup adds a lot of unnecessary code - I try and slim down my projects.

The purpose was for every type of eventuality. :)

I have that problem intermittently and I found the best solution is create a shortcut in the @StartupCommonDir since it is one of the last places in the sequence of startup locations.
