clock on gui refreshing, but blocking other commands..

ok, i know what the problem is here, but for the life of me i cant figure out if its fixable...

My GUI is used for browsing websites that i have bookmarks set as buttons...

I want a clock on the GUI..

using this code for the clock,

GUICtrlSetData ( $Hourb, (@HOUR/24) * 100)
GUICtrlSetData ( $Minb, (@MIN/60) * 100)
GUICtrlSetData ( $Secb, (@SEC/60) * 100)
GUICtrlSetData ( $Hour , @HOUR)
GUICtrlSetData ( $Min , @MIN)
GUICtrlSetData ( $Sec , @SEC)

so, if i have the code just like that, it works fine, but since there is no sleep between the refresh of the clock, the progress bars and the text tend to flicker a lot.

if i put a sleep(1000)

then it blocks the rest of the GUI operating :/

any suggestions?

when i say it blocks the rest of the GUI operating, i mean

While 1
GUICtrlSetData ( $Hourb, (@HOUR/24) * 100)
GUICtrlSetData ( $Minb, (@MIN/60) * 100)
GUICtrlSetData ( $Secb, (@SEC/60) * 100)
GUICtrlSetData ( $Hour , @HOUR)
GUICtrlSetData ( $Min , @MIN)
GUICtrlSetData ( $Sec , @SEC)
Sleep(1000)
$msg = GUIGetMsg()

If $msg = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Or $msg = $Exit Then
Exit
EndIf
If $msg = $Autoit And IsObj($Browser) Then
$Browser.navigate ('http://www.autoitscript.com')
EndIf
WEnd

with the sleep in there, nothing else works.

You could put the clock inside a function and call the function using Adlibregister. Also, only change the clock if the display needs to change, for example, don't update the clock display all the time, only once a second is necessary because otherwise it will flicker like you describe.

AdlibRegister("Clock") ; <<<<<<<<< Put this at the top of your script before the While/Wend

Func Clock()
If $TestSecond <> @SEC then
    GUICtrlSetData ( $Hourb, (@HOUR/24) * 100)
    GUICtrlSetData ( $Minb, (@MIN/60) * 100)
    GUICtrlSetData ( $Secb, (@SEC/60) * 100)
    GUICtrlSetData ( $Hour , @HOUR)
    GUICtrlSetData ( $Min , @MIN)
    GUICtrlSetData ( $Sec , @SEC)
    $TestSecond = @SEC
Endif

EndFunc

Edit: Typo in the Adlibregister

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

cheers BrewManNH. it works perfect with the if statement removed.
