This is already becoming a torment!

I have to press F7 until about two or three times in order to compile my program without getting this error, however, is not always so. Sometimes it works well.

I already installed the OS (Win7) again, but it is not working... Help me, because I do not know what to do.

I sometimes get this when I have a Script more than 5000 lines long and a few/lot of images added to the EXE. To overcome the problem I normally have the SciTE Window in focus and do nothing until compiled. :)

Do you have an Windows Explorer window open of the Target directory? if so try closing it.

Resolve, but was not well so I wanted to work in Windows XP this never happened to me...

No idea what it is exactly, but it was a conclusion we made after several people reported this issue in WIN7 and only when Windows Explorer was opened on the target directory.

Seems that Explorer locks the file after it was created and aut2exe/autoIt3wrapper isn't really finished yet.

This happens to me sometimes and like you say closing the window or changing up a directory always solves it.

For what it's worth, I only see this at one customer's location, never in my main office. That particular customer uses McAfee, and I have to remember to disable On-Access Scanning before compiling or it will throw that error. Other customers, using different AV, I never have a problem with.

Right-clicking on the script source file in Explorer and selecting compile is a supported feature, yet 'often' the first attempt fails. And when it does, usually the .exe file is deleted.

Fortunately, when the .exe disappears, the next try has always been successful. An annoyance though.

Root cause bug should be fixed.

As you can see from the above responses, there is no clear cut reason why the compile fails, so it is a bit diffcult to unequivocally determine the "root cause". ;)

But if it ever becomes obvious then I am sure the Devs will do their best to fix it. :)

Is this also happening with the current Beta or current Production version?

 

I am using the current production version and this is still an issue, but only on larger scripts (at least that I've noticed). I usually just compile again and it works fine.

Knew that much but that doesn't answer the question whether this is also still the case with the Beta version. ;)
