Detect if keys pressed after x time

Recommended Posts

We have a debugging application running overnight, I have to create a script that can re-launch the next segment in case of failure. I was wondering if it was possible to calculate the last time the keyboard was used.

Because in order for the program to really know something froze or an unusual dialog window has popped up would be by knowing the keyboard hasn't been operating for x length of time and that the mouse hasn't moved at all either.

Dono if idle can help you (hit esc to see when the last comp idle time gap)

#include <Timers.au3>
HotKeySet("{ESC}","idletime")
Global $idle
While 1
    Sleep(10)
    $idle = _Timer_GetIdleTime()
WEnd

Func idletime()
    MsgBox(64, "_Timer_GetIdleTime", "Idle time = " & $idle & "ms")
EndFunc

Or try it like this

#include <Timers.au3>
While 1
    Sleep(10)
    ToolTip(_Timer_GetIdleTime())
WEnd

There are those that believe that the perfect heist lies in the preparation.
Some say that it’s all in the timing, seizing the right opportunity. Others even say it’s the ability to leave no trace behind, be a ghost.
