JAFN
Hi again, I realize this is a vague question but I thought I'd ask it before posting code. I have a script that runs perfect as script but compiled locks up so badly ever Task Manager can not shut it down. Any ideas on things to look closer at? Thanks for more of your time. Moderators Melba23 Posted March 19, 2011 Moderators Share Posted March 19, 2011 JAFN, Compiled scripts do run a bit faster than when run in SciTE - do you have any time-sensitive code? I am thinking of a section where you need to give the system time to respond, such as opening menus. Other than that it is a bit difficult to offer any sensible advice without sight of the code - as you already know. JAFN
I only open one menu and it isn't even called before it locks up. But I don't do a lot of error checking so that might be a place to start. I'll slog through it tonight and if still no go I post code tomorrow. Thanks. JohnOne
To me, the only noticable differences are that compiled scripts seem to start quicker. JAFN
I made a few routines cleaner and found two parameter errors in a section that shouldn't be activated yet and as mysteriously as the problem arose it was gone. Thanks for your time. The second mouse gets the cheese
