jrumbaug Posted April 3, 2011 Share Posted April 3, 2011 Sometime in 2009 I started using AUTOIT fo Internet Exporer automation. I tried using some of the suggested tools, but I wanted something else, so I made it. It is a simple "crude" browser with buttons to show tables, links, and forms on a web page. The forms information is what I use the most. I get the name of the form (or iframe containing forms), element names and current values. With that info and a few user defined functions, most IE Automation has been easy. If you look over the source code, you will find a lot of extra "junk" code in there from where I start with the original source code and add to it until I get it to to what I wish. I have scripts that I use for loging onto computers via logmein.com, telling fedex to pick up a package, and filling out insurance forms at work. This is my main tool. I hope this helps someone. If you try it, it will log onto google,com. press the buttons and you will get info about how to talk to the page. It sure beats reading the source code.
