need autoit.exe full path after compile

Hi all!

We've got @AutoItExe macro. (The full path and filename of the AutoIt executable currently running. For compiled scripts it is the path of the compiled script.)

After the compiling, when I run the file i'd like to use the autoit.exe path, but I lost the full path information. I need that not the compiled file path. Have you got any idea? I don't want to write manually in the source (C:\Program Files\AutoIt3\...).

About the only way to do that would be to look in the registry to see where AutoIt is installed. The registry key is HKLM\Software\AutoIt v3\Autoit and the InstallDir is the value you need to grab. The thing is though, is why you would need that key if you're running a compiled script, just wondering if there might be another way around whatever it is you're trying to do.

You don't need the path to AutoIt3.exe if you've got a compiled script at hand. From the help-file:

AutoIt specific command Line Switches
Form3: Compiled.exe [/ErrorStdOut] [/AutoIt3ExecuteScript file] [params ...]
                Execute another script file from a compiled AutoIt3 Script File. Then you don't need to fileinstall another copy of AutoIT3.exe in your compiled file.

I'd like to compile (and after run) in a script, because i'd like to run another script on the run.

but when I'm compiled the original scrip, the @AutoItExe gives me the compiled file path, not the autoit.exe path and the program can't do the compile. Any idea?

As I stated above, you can read the registry to see where AutoIt is installed and go from there. There's no macro that's going to be able to tell you where it is installed on the machine the script is being run on.
