AdlibRegister and Win7 64bit

Hello I seem to be having a problem with AdlibRegister and Windows 7 64bit.

If I Comment out my AdlibRegister line and use call("Function") the script works fine but i would like to use AdlibRegister instead.

Now the Same script works perfect on Windows Xp System with the AdlibRegister.

Just wondering if i have to register a Special Dll or something on windows 7 side.

Specify x64 compile with this at the top of your script:

#AutoIt3Wrapper_UseX64=Y

Welcome MorteX,

I would expect AdlibRegister to work on any operating system W2k and above. What is possibly not showing signs of not working might be in the code within the function. Or perhaps you have found an AutoIt bug. I am not sure what it is with the little information that you give. Can you show the code if that is not too much trouble?

Does this run on both systems and show the Msgbox()?

AdlibRegister('test', 2000); every 2 seconds
Sleep(20000); 20 seconds

Func test()
    MsgBox(0, 'testing', 'testing', 1)
EndFunc

I'm using Win7 x64 and I have no problems with Adlib!

E.g. when I start the script and add the line #AutoIt3Wrapper_UseX64=y it is working properly.

Maybe you show us your code and I can try to reproduce it.

Still having Problem Keep in mind this script is not finish by any means but it does not act right on win7 as it does winxp.

Notepad Must be Open.

So First Try script without changing anything and have Notepad open unless it's my system it should do nothing.

Now open Script and Comment lines 39-40 the Adlib and Run script with Notepad open and watch GUI open and Script write to Notepad.

Now i Tried "MHZ" Post:

AdlibRegister('test', 2000); every 2 seconds
Sleep(20000); 20 seconds

Func test()
    MsgBox(0, 'testing', 'testing', 1)
EndFunc

And works perfectly fine on both system so it's weird it has to be something else in my script.

So looking at what adlib is running I'm thinking it may be WinActive And WinActivate causing the problems.

What do you guys think?

Think your attachment size scared them away. (or there still at it, but I seriously thought doubt that.)

Look at this this way. Would you like to browse trough someone's full and large code to see if you can find some coding mistake.

... Mind you, they could/should have bin more clear about that "little" part though, as you did what they literary asked for. ... lol ...

Maybe change your AdlibRegister's time from 7ms to 250ms! 7ms is alittle to quick.

[optional] how often in milliseconds to call the function. Default is 250 ms.

Tried changing the AdlibRegister time from 7 to 250 even tried 600 then i removed time all together still same problem.

I'm sure it's something pretty simple I've just been looking at code to long lmao.

My advice is start from scratch & start introducing your Functions 1 by 1 to the point at which it starts to break the Script. Your Script is unique! Another point is check in the Console because some Variables aren't declared, this could be another problem.

I was afraid of having to rewrite the whole code, was hoping to find a simpler solution.

This is for a Server computer for like maintenance and monitoring.

Went back to MHz Post

and noted he said 2000 equal 2 seconds and i wanted it to check every 7 seconds i didn't know it was ms in first place.

so i changed it to 7000 and the script seems to work fine now.
