FileSetAttrib "While" "Wend" error

Recommended Posts

I have tried to set attributes to "certain" files only ion a directory using while , wend, if, but it seem as if "FileSetAttrib"

has a problem when using in a loop....I want to change attributes to directories, but ONLY to certain files. Could someone please

check my code?

tia

$search = FileSelectFolder("Select Folder", "")
            $first = FileFindFirstFile($search & "\*.*")
            While 1
                $file = FileFindNextFile($first)
                If @error Then ExitLoop
                If $file = "desktop.ini" Then
                Else
MsgBox(0, "", $file) ;           <---you will notice this messagebox shows the correct files
                    $attrib = FileSetAttrib($file, "-R+A-S-H");          <---This function doesnt want to work
                EndIf
            WEnd

PS: If i use RECURSE = 1, then it works...but the problem is...it then attributes EVERYTHING...I need it to only attribute "certain" files...

You might need to set the folder path before trying to change the file's attributes, as it is right now, it's getting the file names from the function FileFindNextFile, but it's trying to find the file in the current folder because there's no path supplied.

$attrib = FileSetAttrib($search & "\" & $file, "-R+A-S-H")

Try it this way and see if it works.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
