Everyone
I have a tray menu that works in OnEvent mode. Items from the menu call different functions that basically do the same thing but on different data. So right now I have: $tc_item1 = TrayCreateItem ("Item1") $tc_item2 = TrayCreateItem ("Item2") $tc_item3 = TrayCreateItem ("Item3") TrayItemSetOnEvent ($tc_item1, "DoThis") TrayItemSetOnEvent ($tc_item2, "DoThat") TrayItemSetOnEvent ($tc_item3, "DoSmthElse") Func DoThis() ;do the same but on data1 EndFunc Func DoThat() ;do the same but on data2 EndFunc Func DoSmthElse() ;do the same but on data3 EndFunc Is it possible for menu items to call the same function but with different params? This would greatly simplify my code, however I tried $tc_item1 = TrayCreateItem ("Item1") $tc_item2 = TrayCreateItem ("Item2") $tc_item3 = TrayCreateItem ("Item3") TrayItemSetOnEvent ($tc_item1, "DoIt('Data1')") TrayItemSetOnEvent ($tc_item2, "DoIt('Data2')") TrayItemSetOnEvent ($tc_item3, "DoIt('Data3')") Func DoIt($data) ;do stuff with $data EndFunc but it's not working... BrewManNH
Look at the help file example under the GUICtrlSetOnEvent, inside the example script is an example of how to do just that under the SpecialEvents function. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Everyone
It's not totally what I had in mind, there's still an evaluation to do on what item triggered the event, but I guess it's the closest solution possible. Thanks a lot for your help and a quick answer!
BrewManNH
Unfortunately with OnEvent triggering, there's no other way to pass a parameter, at least not an easy way to do it. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise.
