I need some help about md5

i'm from China.

in my script i want md5 some Chinese words. but the result from the udf that i have downloaded from internet is not the same as others.

here is the udf

how can i do?

Have you not tried _Crypt_HashData in the Help File?

You may want to use _Crypt_HashData with the MD5 option.

Now don't forget that your $Data input may be using different encodings (hence have distinct hashes) like ANSI CJK, BIG5 or some other chinese codepage using double-byte encoding, UTF-8, UTF-16 LE, UTF-16 BE, ...

Each of those differing inputs will result in distinct hashes.

MD5 is a hash algorithm, not useable for encryption.

I meant _Crypt_HashData! Argh! Silly me...thanks jchd for pointing out my glaring mistake. Learnt something today, don't mutli-task!
