Simmy
Hi guys hope you are well. Guys I have a text file which contains a long list of computer names. What I would like to do is to read the file, and for each machine, ping the computer. If there is a reply, output the computer name to an edit control, and remove the machine from the text file. If there is no reply, leave the entry in the text file and move on to the next machine in the text file. Keep reading the text file until no computer names exist in the file. Any help greatly appreciated. Edited June 11, 2011 by Simmy
Developers Jos Posted June 11, 2011 Developers Share Posted June 11, 2011 What is the question exactly since you seem to have your requirements clear? Start some coding on reading the file record by record and perform a ping for each read record. The helpfile should be helpful when looking at the examples. Emiel Wieldraaijer
@Simmy, Try to make your own script with the following example #include <file.au3> Dim $aRecords If Not _FileReadToArray("error.log",$aRecords) Then MsgBox(4096,"Error", " Error reading log to Array error:" & @error) Exit EndIf For $x = 1 to $aRecords[0] Msgbox(0,'Record:' & $x, $aRecords[$x]) Next Best regards,Emiel Wieldraaijer
