gerwim
Hi there, I want an application, in which you can compile a new application with specific parameters. So let's say I coded an application, but the user could give different IP addresses to the new file, then click "Build" and it would output a .exe file with the IP adresses. Can this be done with AutoIT? Since I know you can call @AutoITExe with like MsgBox so it could possible compile aswell? Thanks in advance! Moderators Melba23 Posted June 27, 2011 Moderators Share Posted June 27, 2011 gerwim,Can this be done with AutoIT?I have done it, so definitely: YES! You will need to create an .au3 file with FileWrite and then use Run/RunWait to compile it with Aut2Exe - which you may need to FileInstall if the use does not have Autoit installed on his machine. Not trivial, but not overly difficult. BrewManNH
It would probably be easier to use an .ini file than recompiling the script, and just read in the updated data from that when the program is run again. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Thanks for the suggestion though.
