Monitor counter

So i asked how you could count monitors, and Guiness told me about this:

_WinAPI_EnumDisplayDevices()

And after some fiddling around with an example, i ended up with a UDF.

UDF:

Example 1:

I just realised i never tested this while using only one screen...

For me it finds 2, but thats because I can connect to a second monitor!

I think _WinAPI_GetSystemMetrics() will also do that.

Yes, it succesfully finds all connections you can make...

But i want the ones that are already made.... :/

Well, forget the Udf, use Beege's suggestion, just remember to add:

#Include <WinAPI.au3>

Ahh yes your right. Reading further down the msdn it clarifys that. Nice function.

I was just about to post that quote too! It's interesting what you can get GetSystemMetrics.

GetSystemMetrics(SM_CMONITORS) counts only visible display monitors. This is different from EnumDisplayMonitors, which enumerates both visible display monitors and invisible pseudo-monitors that are associated with mirroring drivers. An invisible pseudo-monitor is associated with a pseudo-device used to mirror application drawing for remoting or other purposes.

Not sure if it matters at this point but this is how I determine if a system has multiple monitors:

Guinness's example script was already set up to detect if it was a pseudo-monitor, i just wrote so if its a pseudo-monitor it doesnt add to the count.

But ill use Beege's suggestion!
