configure only some optional parameters.

Recommended Posts

really I don't know this: when I want to specify optional parameters, for the example third or fourth, how can I avoid to set that previous?

I tried so: FunctionName(necessaryparameter, , , optionalparameter, , optionalparameter)... but the space beetween the commas it isn't acepted.

thank you! :)

Normally you can use either -1 or Default for optional parameters you do not wish to change. ;)

It all depends on the function - which one is it? :)

You can't AVOID using optional parameters preceding the one you are actually using. As M23 has pointed out you can usually use Default or -1 for numeric values. The one he left out is "" for string values and the same Default keyword will usually work there as well, just don't quote it.

The help file clearly states that optional parameters preceding the one you want to use must also be used. Each of those parameters will be listed in the help file and you can just set them to the default value shown in the Parameters portion of the function table.
