bmech211 Posted July 27, 2011 Share Posted July 27, 2011 Greetings all, I am a technical analyst tasked with creating and maintaining commercial aircraft maintenance manuals. I rely heavily on using the manufacturers manual to extract, revise and/or create new document sets. Currently, I am extracting this data manually by: >Opening the complete sgml manual in Textpad >Searching for the applicable section >Copy/paste the section into a new Textpad document >Copy/paste the Doctype call-out so I can author/edit, parse and validate in Arbortext >Save file to applicable folder I would like create a script in AutoIt to automate this process by extracting all the sections (roughly 3800 per aircraft manual), inputting the Doctype call-out and individually saving each document to an output folder. I have read through some of the help topics and FAQ's but I don't know what functions in AutoIt apply to what I'm trying to do. I'm asking for a little guidance in determining what I should be reviewing to help me in developing this script. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
