Browser Objects

There are examples of using InternetExplorer.Application as an object in the Beta help file and this forum, and I am indebted to eri (erifash) for PMing me this info re things you can do with IE as an object: "Here is a MSDN resource site for IE:

but does any one have a reference for Firefox as an object?

AFAIK firefox doesnt have an object.

ActiveX for Mozilla exists, look here. Not tried this myself, though.

Here's a question...(actually a couple)

InetGet needs IE installed, but the ("winhttp.winhttprequest.5.1") object that wOUTER uses in some of the UDF's doesn't (I think). To this newbie, the little I have been able to read up on this stuff, using winhttp for "direct" access to the internet would seem to be fundamentally better way to go than whatever is behind InetGet.

Is this true?

Also, my speed testing suggests that multiple calls of InetGet (from different scripts) at the same time are executed serially, not in parallel. Does this make sense, and does winhttp have the same issueif this is true?

Could I get around it if I ran IE and fireox instead of two IE's(through InetGet)?(eg by learning to use ActiveX)

Possibly learning to use ActiveX may be able to do what you want.
