Determining line of code in compilied script

Recommended Posts

I had a script, and it has a bunch of includes, and when I run it I get a message saying "Line 1957 (File) Error: Variable used without being declared." My code is only 460 lines, so how do I translate the error line of 1957 into what it would actually be in my code?

Run AU3Check on the program before you compile it, that should show you where the error is. The line number from a compiled script isn't much use because of the included files. If you have obfuscated it, then you might be able to get the correct line from the <scriptname>_obfuscated.au3 file. I'm not sure if the lines in there correspond to the line number in a compiled script, but it's a place to start.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

That helped. I forgot to declare a variable globally. Thanks.
