MsgBox with countdown

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Wondering if there is an elegang way to display a system modal dialog with a dynamic countdown that does not cause the dialog box to refresh. The following works, but flashes every time the counter changes, which is annoying:

; Countdown loop
$secsRemain = 90
While $secsRemain > 0
  $ret = MsgBox(4160,"Countdown", "Seconds remaining until system restart: "& $secsRemain, 1)
  If $ret = 1 Then
      ExitLoop
  EndIf
  $secsRemain = $secsRemain - 1
WEnd

Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Palmerj,

Look at the ExtMsgBox UDF in my sig - it has a "countdown" mode among its many user-definable options.

why dont u simply create your own messagebox ?

with another gui, with your options and buttons, it could completely look like a system modal msgbox

Truth be told... I'm in a time crunch and didn't want to reinvent the wheel. I'm sure someone has been there, done that.

Thanks.
