Are you saying that you do not get a MsgBox?

ohh, I think I can guess why... :graduated:

Compatible with Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT4 / 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista / 2008

but I use win7...

can it cause failures?

AutoIt works very well with Win7. ;)

What return value do you get from the HotKeySet function? Does the HotKey actually get set? :graduated:

Your second snippet works on Windows 7 x64 and that return value indicates a success. Did you try another key?

My knowledge in this area is not so great, but I assume that there is no such program. (I turned off processes in task manager :graduated:

I will explore the working function,maybe it will help me sort out the problem.

ps send('^s')/ send('+s')/send('^+s') etc also does not work.

I know this is a long shot, but is there any chance that you're using upper case in your hotkeyset commands rather than lower case letters? For example hotkeyset("Q", "fred") rather than hotkeyset("q", "fred"). If you use upper case letters in the hotkeyset command, than only Shift + <letter> will activate the hotkey.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
