Delete a folder with runas

Recommended Posts

I have created a script to uninstall and install a trial version software from domain users machines for install and uninstall exe. I've used runas command , so that domain users (restricted users) can uninstall and install a software without any need 2 call admin to install software with admin rights. After uninstall process that software keeps its folder and few files in it's "program files\<software directory>". Without complete deletion/removal of that folder install process cannot continue. Domain users don't have rights to that folder.

I have added a line in that script to remove that "program files\<software directory>", as

RunAs($sUserName, @ComputerName, $sPassword, 1, Dirremove("c:\program files\<software directory>", 1)).

When domain users runs exe file with this above command in that script, its unable to delete that folder as it is still trying 2 delete that folder with domain users rights only, even though i've used Runas command. ( I created a new script with the above single line in it , to test what is the problem. When i use windows right click runas admin rights, it works perfect.)

Kindly suggest where i m making the mistake?

DirRemove is an AutoIt command and can't be run that way. I would try using rd /s /q <foldername> instead in its place.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
