Hi Everyone,

I am faily new to autoit, and I am trying to locate or / display the current loaded video driver in my program.

I have read the MS Article here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/200435

Which may work most of the time, but I am finding out that in windows 7 (or at least on my system) the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\hardware\DeviceMap\Video (Device\Video0) doesn't point to my currently installed video driver.

I have a Nvidia GTX 460 1GB of ram dual display.

Does anyone know of a reliable way to find out the currently installed display drivers?

Thanks

Thawee

The glories of WMI:

$objWMIService = ObjGet("winmgmts:\\" & @ComputerName & "\root\cimv2")
$colItems = $objWMIService.ExecQuery("Select * from Win32_VideoController")
For $objItem in $colItems
    ConsoleWrite("Caption: " & $objItem.Caption & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("Description: " & $objItem.Description & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("DeviceID: " & $objItem.DeviceID & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("DriverDate: " & $objItem.DriverDate & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("DriverVersion: " & $objItem.DriverVersion & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("InfFilename: " & $objItem.InfFilename & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("InfSection: " & $objItem.InfSection & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("InstallDate: " & $objItem.InstallDate & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("InstalledDisplayDrivers: " & $objItem.InstalledDisplayDrivers & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("Name: " & $objItem.Name & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("PNPDeviceID: " & $objItem.PNPDeviceID & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("SystemName: " & $objItem.SystemName & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("VideoModeDescription: " & $objItem.VideoModeDescription & @LF)
    ConsoleWrite("VideoProcessor: " & $objItem.VideoProcessor & @LF)

Do a search for scriptomatic on this site, it's a good introduction to what you can see with WMI calls.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

Back up and restore Windows user files _Array.au3 - Modified array functions that include support for 2D arrays.  -  ColorChooser - An add-on for SciTE that pops up a color dialog so you can select and paste a color code into a script.  -  Customizable Splashscreen GUI w/Progress Bar - Create a custom "splash screen" GUI with a progress bar and custom label.  -  _FileGetProperty - Retrieve the properties of a file  -  SciTE Toolbar - A toolbar demo for use with the SciTE editor  -  GUIRegisterMsg demo - Demo script to show how to use the Windows messages to interact with controls and your GUI.  -   Latin Square password generator
