BrewManNH Posted September 21, 2011 Share Posted September 21, 2011 I have this in a function Func _GeneratePW($PWInput = "x") which should be the correct syntax for the function. Yet when I run the script and that function is called I get this: >Running:(3.3.6.1):C:\Program Files\AutoIt3\autoit3.exe "G:\AutoItScripts\LatinSquare\LatinSquare.au3" G:\AutoItScripts\LatinSquare\LatinSquare.au3 (195) : ==> Variable used without being declared.:If $PWInput = "x" ThenIf ^ ERROR This is telling me that the variable isn't declared when it should be automatically declared by its use in the function statement. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? This function is called in 2 ways, one by GUICtrlSetOnEvent, and the other by another function when I get this error. If I set the OnEvent function to another function that calls this one, it works fine. Is it because it's an OnEvent function that I get this error? If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. I've made lots of functions with parameters, but this is probably the first time I created one that's an OnEvent function with one. Learn something new every day.
