Switch $Rqst[0]

Case "keyword"

Resis()

Selection($Nrgx, $Nrgy, 1)

Resis()

EndSwitch

Rqst holds a string, i want to run the case statement if the string has the chars "ene" (anywhere within the string)

i tried using the stringinstr command but to no success

RooTMasteR,

Welcome to the AutoIt forum. :graduated:

This should work:

If StringInStr($Rqst[0], "ene") Then
    Resis()
    Selection($Nrgx, $Nrgy, 1)
    Resis()
EndIf

If it does not fit the bill then can you give a bit more what you are trying to do. ;)

hi melba and thanks for the fast reply

yeh i had that idea with using if statements, let me explain a little more

my script collects data from a log file, i have one line of txt stored to $Rqst

an example would be "ene2 abc2 lin3"

the characters are the keyword - decides what function to call

the number is a count - how many times the function is called

the string could contain upto 20 keywords for instance, so was trying to cut down on the if statements if i could

so basically what i want is if the text contains either ene, abc, lin then i want to call that function and store the number that proceedes it .

thanks. i hope im not too confusing.

Instead of Switch try it with Select and Case:

Global $Test[4] = ["ene2", "lin4", "abc6", "def1"]
For $I = 0 To 3
 Select
  Case StringInStr($Test[$I], "ene")
   ConsoleWrite('@@ Debug(' & @ScriptLineNumber & ') : $Test[$I] = ' & $Test[$I] & @CRLF & '>Error code: ' & @error & @CRLF) ;### Debug Console
  Case StringInStr($Test[$I], "abc")
   ConsoleWrite('@@ Debug(' & @ScriptLineNumber & ') : $Test[$I] = ' & $Test[$I] & @CRLF & '>Error code: ' & @error & @CRLF) ;### Debug Console
 EndSelect
Next

Run it from SciTe and watch the console.
