johnwon
I am new to AutoIt and have only written a couple scripts so far. I need some direction for this one. I have an access database that lists a lot of reports in it. There is a form to make use easy, but I also have access to the table where the data is stored too. These reports are set up on one of our reporting servers and are scheduled to run automatically and a public folder is copied when the reports are emailed to the users. There are thousands of reports. I need to write a script that will look up the name of the report in our access database, then go to Outlook and look up that name (the report name and subject are always the same). Once it looks up the name to ensure that it has the correct report, I need to get into the body of the email to capture the recipients and text in the body of the report. If it's a report with an excel attachment, I need to forward the report for my review. If there is no attachment, I need to copy the text in the body of the email and past it into a comments field in the access database. Any suggestions on how to go about this is greatly appreciated. Thank you, John
water
For the Outlook part there is an Outlook UDF available. For download please see my signature. You can use _OL_ItemFind to populate an array with all required info about the found mails. So you could search for all mail items with subject of "Report xxx" and get recipident, body, attachments etc. for all found items. johnwon
Thank you for the info. I'll try using this UDF to look the info up; I'll now just need to see if I can read the access database or if I'll need to export to Excel and run the process off of a spreadsheet.
