[Solved] _Crypt and Reading Ini's

 Share

Recommended Posts

Ok im trying to disguise some info in an ini file

Its not passwords or anything like that but install switches for program installs

e.g " /s REBOOT=Suppress"

i started by using the _Crypt_EncryptData example in the helpfile to create the keys i needed for the data, but no matter which way i use it i cant get it to work

So using this

$hKey=_Crypt_DeriveKey("Start",$CALG_RC4)

and typing in "key" gives me "0xB4100B"

Ok then using this

$key = _Crypt_DecryptData("0xB4100B", "Start", $CALG_RC4)
ConsoleWrite( $key & @CR)

gives me "0x6B6579" ?? shouldnt this be the word key?

After messing about for a cple of hours i tried a different path

I pasted a made up key from _Crypt_EncryptData and saved it under the key i wanted in the .ini file, then using this function from Smoke_N

_IniCrypt_Read(@ScriptDir & "\file_includes\support\updates.ini", "JAV", "Switch_0", "Not Found")

I thought this would be simple but im not getting results either.

this is the normal command

IniRead(@ScriptDir & "\file_includes\support\updates.ini", "JAV", "Switch_0", "Not Found")

and in the ini

Switch_0= /s REBOOT=Suppress

which for /s REBOOT=Suppress would be "0xFF5A0174D49E328E10BAED6CD33FE777B94C85"

can someone point me in the right direction plz Edited by Chimaera

_Crypt_DeriveKey, returns a handle to the key, not the key itself, and then that handle is only valid if you use the $CALG_USERKEY flag in the _Crypt_EncryptData function. You can do it much simpler by just specifying the password without using the key handle in that function call. You're referencing the handle by one instance of it, and it probably changes everytime you use derivekey, so no wonder it doesn't work.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Here is a quick example:

#include <Crypt.au3>

Local $sData = "EncryptMe!"

$sData = _Crypt_EncryptData($sData, "PasswordSecret", $CALG_RC4)
ConsoleWrite("Encrypted: " & $sData & @LF)

$sData = _Crypt_DecryptData($sData, "PasswordSecret", $CALG_RC4)
ConsoleWrite("Decrypted: " & BinaryToString($sData) & @LF)

aah that makes a bit more sense now thx guys

Here's the final working result just for reference

ShellExecuteWait(@ScriptDir & "file_includes" & $JAV_SaveName, BinaryToString(_Crypt_DecryptData(IniRead(@ScriptDir & "file_includessupportupdates.ini", "JAV", "Switch_0", "Not Found"), "0x210DA71A99CA644778ED6A", $CALG_RC4)))
