dangwu1 Posted November 9, 2011 Share Posted November 9, 2011 I have a GUI automation script that relies on MouseClicks that I need to run in a Remote Desktop session. It lasts a while (over 10 minutes usually). However, when I start the script and minimize the Remote Desktop session mid-run, the script stops working. Is there any way around this? I'd like the script to be able to keep running when the RDS is minimized so I can do other things on my main desktop. Thanks. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Then it won't matter if YOUR computer is doing something else or even if the session window is minimized. michaels1980 Posted November 10, 2011 Share Posted November 10, 2011 I've noticed this as well with some of my scripts - everything works fine until you minimise the remote desktop window. It seems to be window activation commands and WinMenuSelectItem that stop working, maybe something to do with the remote computer being locked. Now I either use tightVNC instead, which does not lock the remote computer, or just stop the remote desktop session and unlock the remote computer by using this: Run(@WindowsDir & '\System32\tscon.exe 0 /dest:console') Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Technically, I am running my script on the remote system and not my system. And the whole point of my question is that I want to run the script via remote desktop.@michaels1980I'll try that, thanks!
