XTensionX
Hey, im just wondering if the result with filegetsize would be the same on all PC. For example, $size = FileGetSize("AutoIt.exe");From Helpfile if i use this on other PC, or any other people uses it. whether its from x64/x32/Windows 7/Windows Vista/Windows XP etc. Would the return value always be the same? Moderators Melba23 Posted November 19, 2011 Moderators Share Posted November 19, 2011 XTensionX, As far as I know you will get the same size returned regardless of the machine or OS. XTensionX
Thanks guys, Oh the reason why im asking is because one of my program uses filegetsize, and return an error if the size is not exactly the same (in bytes). I first thought the same too, that it would be the same on all OS etc. but i keep getting comments from my users saying they are getting the error every so often, but not everyone has it, which lead me wondering. So I just want to confirm this so i know the problem isn't from my program
Moderators Melba23 Posted November 19, 2011 Moderators Share Posted November 19, 2011 XTensionX,I wondered if you were trying to use the return as some form of ID check, which is why I asked. Perhaps you could look at getting an MD5 hash of the file rather than using the size - that would solve the problem. _Crypt_HashFile is the function you would need.
