LoWang Posted November 23, 2011 Share Posted November 23, 2011 Hello we have computers in a domain in our company and I want to be able to measure how long it takes for users to load their roaming profile after they enter domain credentials. I found out that the destkop becomes visible when process explorer.exe starts and also winlogon notify event Logon fires ([HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\), so this can be used as a stop time, but I am not sure how to get the time when user authenticates. There is a message successfull audit with the username in event log / security, so I guess I could somehow programatically browse eventlog and find this event, get its time and the difference between this and starting of explorer.exe time would be the what I want - time of profile loading from the domain server.
