ChrisN Posted November 24, 2011 Share Posted November 24, 2011 Is there any way to set a hotkey to a combination of "normal" keys, i.e. no ALT, CTRL, WIN keys?The reason I am asking this is I have a program that uses a barcode scanner to automate another program, and I need a way to activate the window by a hotkey. The problem is, the barcode scanner can't send "special" keys, unless you change the mode, which would take 5+ scans to change it and change it back, and that would take too much time.If would like to set the hotkey to a series of characters, such as *^$ that wouldn't be typed normally.So, any ideas? It needs to be set to a string of characters that won't normally be typed. It could be any string, but using HotKeySet("abc", "myfunction") calls "myfunction" whenever "a" is pressed, not whenever "abc" is typed. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
