mcb247
My program is executed on Win7 via right-click “Run as administrator”. However, I need this program to launch a .vbs file that runs as the currently logged on user. Using this: $RunCommand = ("C:\Folder\MyScript.vbs") RunWait(@ComSpec & " /c " & $RunCommand) the .vbs runs as the admin account, but it must be run as the currently logged on user. Suggestions?? BrewManNH
You have to run it as the user or it will always get the credentials of the Administrator that ran it. Unfortunately that's how Windows works, to my knowledge. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. mcb247
You have to run it as the user or it will always get the credentials of the Administrator that ran it. Unfortunately that's how Windows works, to my knowledge.Ugh.. I need a certain part of the program to definately "Run as admin" otherwise UAC prevents it. If I wrap the .vbs into another .exe and call that, I presume it would still kick off as admin not the current user?
JohnOne
Am I wrong in thinking RunAsWait() would be the solution? mcb247
Am I wrong in thinking RunAsWait() would be the solution? That requires passing a hardcoded username/password. Unless leaving it blank means "use the currently logged in user" ?? I'm starting to think I need to make the function that requres admin rights a seperate .exe and have my main program launched in user context.
