[Q] About PWideChar parameter in delphi with AU3_RegRead

I have a question about PWideChar parameter in delphi with AU3_RegRead.

but i'm sorry i'm a delphi newbie. :-)

ex)

var

str: String;

begin

SetLength(str, 256);

AU3_RegRead('HKEY_CURRENT_USER\KEYNAME', 'VALUENAME', PWideChar(str), 256);

ShowMessage(str);

end;

it wokrs. is it a right usage?

if SetLength command wasn't, it didn't work.

so why do AU3_RegRead command need buffer parameter?
