Allow2010
Hi all, as i am currently working an a GUI i come across some problems i can not solve. one is that i would like a checkbox/radiobutton to have two (or more) lines of text (so that the text wraps around to the next line when the size limit is reached). I can add the second line with a label, but then it is not selected when clicking the radio/checkbox... Did i miss something or is there a way to get this? Moderators Melba23 Posted December 27, 2011 Moderators Share Posted December 27, 2011 Allow2010, As far as I know you have to go the label route for the whole text. That also gets over the problem with the label not being selected with the radio/checkbox. #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> $hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500) GUIStartGroup() $hRadio_1 = GUICtrlCreateRadio(" Single line", 10, 10, 200, 20) $hRadio_2 = GUICtrlCreateRadio("", 10, 50, 20, 20) GUICtrlCreateLabel("Double line" & @CRLF & "of text", 30, 45, 180, 40) GUISetState() While 1 Switch GUIGetMsg() Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit EndSwitch WEnd M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area
Allow2010
Thanks for the idea, but it is still not perfect:-) - this method is not nice as single line looks and behaves different than double line - you can not clock double line test to select the radio button as MS does ist everywhere i am sure there is a way to do it in Autoit too.-)
Moderators Melba23 Posted December 27, 2011 Moderators Share Posted December 27, 2011 Allow2010, you can not clock double line test to select the radio buttonReally? #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> $hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500) GUIStartGroup() $hRadio_1 = GUICtrlCreateRadio(" Single line", 10, 10, 200, 20) $hRadio_2 = GUICtrlCreateRadio("", 10, 50, 20, 20) $hLabel = GUICtrlCreateLabel("Double line" & @CRLF & "of text", 30, 45, 180, 40) GUISetState() While 1 Switch GUIGetMsg() Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit Case $hLabel GUICtrlSetState($hRadio_2, $GUI_CHECKED) EndSwitch WEnd And that is probably how MS do it as well. BrewManNH
Another way of going about it: #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #include <ButtonConstants.au3> $hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500) GUIStartGroup() $hRadio_1 = GUICtrlCreateRadio(" Single line", 10, 10, 200, 20) $hRadio_2 = GUICtrlCreateRadio("Double line" & @CRLF & "of text", 10, 50, 200, 50,$BS_MULTILINE) GUISetState() While 1 Switch GUIGetMsg() Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit EndSwitch WEnd If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Moderators Melba23 Posted December 27, 2011 Moderators Share Posted December 27, 2011 BrewManNH,Too true. I have always felt the MS developers were closet admirers of Kipling: "There are nine and sixty ways of constructing tribal lays - and every single one of them is right!"M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area
