Nice thought but it will not work. Autoit goes through the script and honours all of the directives (those beginning with # like #include) before running the script. So you cannot have conditional directives - sorry. :)

yetrael,

I believe your solution is the only way to do it. However, do not forget that you can compile scripts into .a3x files and then run them using the interpreter within the existing file. You can even FileInstall the .a3x file within the first exe to make it appear a single file - I have done that a number of times. ;)

What's the problem with just putting #requireadmin at the top? If it's already admin then nothing will happen, if he's not admin, or is admin with a split token then you'll be prompted to elevate.
