What's the difference between the AutoIt.chm and AutoIt3.chm?

Recommended Posts

The differences I've found so far:

- The AutoIt.chm is 65kb while AutoIt3.chm is 1398kb.

- The AutoIt.chm contains UDFs while AutoIt3.chm doesn't seem to have them unless they're buried somewhere.

Which one should we be using?

Autoit.chm is a master helpfile that combines both the AutoIt3 core helpfile and the UDF helpfile (UDFs3.chm)

autoit.chm is just a merge file By accessing that it will import the contents of autoit3.chm and the contents of the UDFs3.chm file so it will appear they are a single file.

As someone pointed out already, all of the individual html files are usually available but I can't find them now. If you actually do decide to decompile the help files then you can open the hhc files in notepad and it's pretty easy to see how a merge file works.

Question about decompiling code? Read the decompiling FAQ and don't bother posting the question in the forums.
