A text edit control like the one I'm using now is a different story. I mean read-only selected text. Some browsers or PDF viewers may not even copy to clipboard as text. Copy to clipboard is likely to work with more windows than any other method. The best approach depends on what you are trying to do and the nature of the particular window. Is there a way to avoid overwriting what clipboard already has stored? Like writing it to a variable, then putting the contents of the variable back into clipboard?
