parham
Hello everyone, I'm trying to write an application with AutoIt that would allow me to read the contents of a text file, without opening a window. This is a proof-of-concept project for university. The problem is, I am trying to also add a "Find" functionality in this application, and since the application is meant to be hidden (I.E. no system tray icons, no message boxes, and no input boxes), I am trying to log all the alphanumeric key presses (a-z and 0-9). Now, I have read that AutoIt is not to be used as a key logger and I fully understand it. However, I'm not trying to write a key logger. If I wanted to do so, there would be tools much better suited to the task. I'm merely using AutoIt because my project requires me to do it. So, are there any ways of doing this in an easy-to-read fashion? Thanks a lot!
Moderators Melba23 Posted January 2, 2012 Moderators Share Posted January 2, 2012 parham, Welcome to the AutoIt forum. I realise that you are not writing a keylogger, but what you want to do is precisely what a keylogger does and any help given to you would be easily convertible to that end. Sorry - I hope we can help you later in the project.
