Remove a character from variable data

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at the Variables and Conversions functions Reference in the helpfile and I am not certain which would be the best to use. I currently have a function that reads data from WMI, and runs a program with the name that corresponds to that data. Unfortunately, I am working with a new system and the data I am getting back contains a forwardslash, which I cannot use. In a perfect world, I may yet be able to change this data in the system itself but I need to wait a while before I can try it.

If I can't replace the data itself, which option would be best to take a value being returned with a forwardslash in it to be changed to the same thing but with it removed? For example:

Data contained in WMI is:

ABC123/DEF456

Would like to have the variable store:

ABC123DEF456

The reason for this request should be obvious... you cannot have a forwardslash in a filename, and I'd rather adapt this as easily as possible.

Tripredacus,

Look at StringReplace in the Help file. :)
