Check to see if FileCopy will work in place of FileMove. If it does then check what @Error is returning with the FileMove.

FileCopy and File move works when use like this..

#Include <Date.au3>
ConsoleWrite(FileExists(@DesktopDir & "Test.xml") & @crlf)
ConsoleWrite(FileGetAttrib(@DesktopDir & "Test.xml") & @crlf)
FileCopy(@DesktopDir & "Test.xml",@DesktopDir&"Test_1234.xml",9)

if i try like this, the same script does not work for me... any clue ?

#Include <Date.au3>
ConsoleWrite(FileExists(@DesktopDir & "Test.xml") & @crlf)
ConsoleWrite(FileGetAttrib(@DesktopDir & "Test.xml") & @crlf)
FileCopy(@DesktopDir & "Test.xml",@DesktopDir&"Test_"&_NowDate()&".xml",9)

Syed23,

As _NowDate returns a string using "/" as a separator, it is hardly surprising that you cannot use it as part of a filename. :)

Try using StringReplace on the returned string to get a legal character in place of the "/". ;)

_NowDate first looks up the registry for the default date format separator... which is a dot . here in Germany and the reason it worked fine for me :)...
