Detecting $gui_close from wm_command (for popup window)

 Share

Recommended Posts

I am managing multiple guis in a fashion suggested from http://www.autoitscript.com/wiki/Managing_Multiple_GUIs

There is a adlibreg function that will normally block everything but wm_command so i though since my multi-gui or main gui cant detect $gui_close while this adlib is running would there be a way to detect it from wm_Command?

Aktonius,

Do you want to share your code so we can understand exactly what you are doing with your Adlib function? :)

Melba23, sure thing

While 1

    $nMsg = GUIGetMsg(1)
    Switch $nMsg[1]

        Case $gui
            Switch $nMsg[0]
                Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
                    Exit;adlib will block this...
                Case $Start

                    AdlibRegister("go", 50)

            EndSwitch
        Case $Form1
            Switch $nMsg[0]
                Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
;handle close normally but adlib will block this...
            EndSwitch
        Case $logform
            Switch $nMsg[0]
                Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
                    GUIDelete($form2) ;adlib will block this...

            EndSwitch

    EndSwitch

WEnd

Func go()

ConsoleWrite("I love Melba Help, best forum user ever!" & @LF)
    Sleep(1000)
EndFunc   ;==>go

edit: i make ugly code :)

Aktonius,

Having a Sleep in an Adlib function longer than the Adlib delay means that your script is certain to run into problems as the function is called again and again before it exits from the first call - try changing that and see if it helps.. :)

Thanks Melba but it doesnt seem to help. Also something you might find interesting

I first tried with same sleep...

If i spam close on my main gui it will close it while adlib is running but i need to be fast :)

Btw weird enough there is no way to close it if i set sleep to something higher then 50ms as above like 250 makes it impossible to close my gui while its running so i am guessing this message is lost if not processed quick enough or?

But isnt there a way to handle this in a wm_Command fashion? I was trying to search wm_messages but only interesting thing i have found is wm_close and that message has no params that could tell me which of my guis got the wm_close

Ok, another update, i somehow forgot those messages are definitely saved. So each time i stop my adlib(i am doing this through registered wm_command) the close msg for the gui is executed.

Even though i would expect this message to go after one run of adlib is done but it seems the message is processed only after adlib is unregged.

To detect the GUI close message while the script is sleeping, you'd need to use WM_SYSCOMMAND windows messages, not WM_COMMAND messages. Look in my signature for a link to a demo of how it's done using Windows messaging.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
